Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef for the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook, reveals easy to master techniques and her trademark spiky blond tresses. Chef Burrell worked at top New York restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and geography. In addition, she appeared on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food at young age. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the history and concepts of Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression in her point of view. Burrell was on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her role as an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne says throughout her professional career that she is incredibly fortunate being able to share with others what is most important for her.
