Pollyanna McIntosh
Pollyanna McIntosh was a child in
Portugal and Colombia before returning to her home in Scotland in Scotland,
where she was born. It was here that she first began performing, on stage on
stage, at The Edinburgh Festival. At 16 she relocated to London where she
started working in independent filmmaking. (Her first pay-per-view in The Acid
House was as a stoner in the film Irvine Welsh (1998)). She has also
participated in theater as both an actor and director. After moving to Los
Angeles in 2004 led to more theatre. She directed Anne Dudek (a regular star on
Mad Men/Big Love (2006)) as along with David Dayan Fisher (a regular star in 24
(2001/NCIS 2003)) to great reviews. In Headspace (2005) the actress made her
debut US film role as "Stacy", a manipulative, born-again Christian.
She was then cast in the role of "Thumper Wint", a wild, born-again
Christian in Sex and Death 101 (2006) (Simon Baker/Winona Rider) in Heathers
(1988). The critics were impressed with her distinctive combination of powerful
sexuality and irreverent humor. Exam (2009) in which was her first film in
London and LA followed. Awarded a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British
Debut and winner at the Santa Barbara Film Fest of Best Independent,
Pollyanna's performance was "smart and sassy in equal parts the emotion
center of the film" as well as her ability to recognize the
"emotional vulnerability” of her strong and sassy character. GQ simply
said that Pollyanna McIntosh is a beautiful actor and "extraordinarily
skilled actor". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like
it! ) is a funny South American farce in which she is Brit comedian Trevor
Lock's angry wife. She speaks Spanish throughout the film that was made in
Peru. John Landis directed Burke and Hare (2010). She portrays Isla Fisher’s
bestie, along with Andy Serkis and Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson, Tim Curry, and
Tom Wilkinson. Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011), which she played the main role ,
was praised by critics at Sundance 2011. It also won the New York Times' readers'
top movies poll. In recognition of her performance, she won three Best Actress
awards, including Total Film's Frightfest Award and Fright Meter's.
